the fifth of may

Well, we have finally become those people, the ones that don't update their blog. Things have been pretty busy now that language school is finished. We have been meeting with our friends, teaching and visiting local University campuses. We have also done quite a bit of traveling. We went to the central part of our Island for a wedding and took a train ride to visit some friends to the east of here.
This past Saturday was a big day in the Hampton household, besides being Derby Day and Cinco de Mayo, it was my 24th birthday. On Saturday Roger told me that I was only getting a small gift, my big surprise would come on Monday. But I was happy enough on Saturday morning to wake up to two boxes of Pop Tarts!
I didn't think it could get any better than Pop Tarts, but on Monday it certainly did. I had requested a spa day for my birthday, but Roger had planned more.I was told to pack my bathing suit and get in the car. Roger drove me across town to the Shangri-La and when we got inside I tried to head to the spa only to be taken to the top floor and told we were spending the night.

The day only got better as we swam in the pool and enjoyed a room with carpet, AC, a bathtub and hot water. Wow! My standard for luxury has changed since moving here. That night we went to the spa and I spent two hours getting a facial, manicure, pedicure, massage and all that good aromatherapy scrubbin' stuff.

Doesn't this look nice? It was! Roger is the best! And to top off we had an American breakfast this morning. Bacon, omelettes and waffles. Yum!
