you very well speak english

Roger and I are both English teachers and this job gives us the opportunity to experience all the mistakes that can be made with the English language. Now, I do realize that English is a very difficult language to learn. There are lots of rules that make no sense at all. But still it's funny when people mess up.

I just finished teaching a grammar class these are some mistakes my students made on their final test.

1. I'm have very exciting about my vacation.
2. I didn't enjoy the movie. It was very bored.
3. The students is worked very hardly.
4. How don't you go to work by car?

The written mistakes are easier to correct, but the spoken ones are often funnier. This is one of my favorites.

"Raise your hand and I will please you prepare your class to make more about your understandable."

I really have no idea what that even means.

And of course, the most famous mistake...

When Roger asked what time someone wanted to come over they replied, "Up yours."
After a few confused moments we realized they meant to say, "Up to you." Later we found out that someone had told them that saying, "up to you" was very rude.
Much later than that we decided to correct them...
