we made it to canada

We made it to our new apartment about 5:30 pm on Wednesday. Our first big adventure in the city was to collect all of our luggage from the airport and from UPS (we shipped a few things). It was rather uneventful, except that we did encounter our first time to be stereotyped as Americans. While at the customs office Roger was asked where he was from and he of course said Kentucky. The man then said, "You're from Kentucky? Do you have your handgun with you? Everybody in Kentucky carries a handgun, eh?" I guess Roger and I are not the stereotypical Kentuckians!

Our second adventure was to find our apartment, we had an address and the route we were supposed to use. We boarded the first skytrain with no problem, but accidentally got on a wrong train after that. Fortunately everybody on the train was very helpful (and probably concerned) and helped us off of a very crowded train and pointed us in the right direction. After that it was an easy trip and we found our apartment with no problem.

We still have a lot of unpacking and decorating to do, but I think the place has potential. We have already met some people in the area and been to Wal-Mart to pick up a few things. Pictures will soon follow.
