Luckily for us, we have not had any new rat or flood adventures this week. We know that they are funny to read, but we must consider it a blessing that we have no new funny stories.
It seems like since we have been here something is always breaking. The car broke, several electrical outlets have gone out, ceiling fans, the couch and chairs, and refrigerator. This week was no exception. Before leaving the States we were thinking about buying a new camera, but we decided that we should be responsible and save the money instead. Well, after 2 months in the country, our digital camera also broke...so much for saving money! So, on Thursday we went to an electronic store and bought a new Sony Cybershot. I wish that we had a functioning camera to take a picture of the madness that went down at the store. The people here are HUGE on customer service, especially when it involves a "rich" foreigner from the United States. At one point we had 7 customer service representatives "helping" us to complete the transaction. Once there were so many people in on the action we just took a step back and had a good laugh at what was going on...I don't think they even noticed we weren't in the huddle anymore.
So without further ado, here are some pictures taken with the new camera of Courtney and the high school girls that have been coming to our house once a week to practice English. This week the girls made chocolate chip cookies...they were so yummy! The girl on the left is Alit, the girl in the middle is Sheila, and the girl on the right is Courtney (duh).
