I couldn't think of anything at all to write about, but I hate it when blogs aren't updated. So I looked through our facebook (a.k.a. "that myface thing") pictures and found a few outstanding shots that we have taken during our 7.5 months (Wow! Has it really been that long?!?!?) in our lovely, dirty, hot, new home.
Contrary to the popular opinion of many really smart people who study the Bible, Jesus is in fact white and way into these flowing cotton robes.
The grocery store below our language school sells chicken heads, eyeballs and all. Roger was fascinated. Everyday during our break he would go over just to look at them.
We went to the safari park and saw some animals. The llama smiled at me and I smiled back.
Also from the famous safari park, danger ahead, large bears will viciously attack your car.
One of the world's current disasters, the hot mud of East Java. There used to be a town under there. Now it looks like Paducah in the winter time. I first I didn't think much about the trees with no leaves, then I realized that when this picture was taken it was hot outside. Trees don't usually lose their leaves here. It used to be on the news sometimes, but now it's a mostly forgotten about natural (or maybe man made) disaster. Click here to read more about it.
We celebrated our second anniversary on the lovely island of Bali. We went snorkeling. Nice.
I found this in the women's bathroom of a rather nice shopping mall in Bali. Just a friendly reminder that we are to sit, not squat upon, the toilet. Great illustration!
Hopefully something will happen around here soon. I guess in this country that's a dangerous thing to say, I certainly hate to wake up to facebook messages asking if I was in the plane that crashed, the train that derailed, the house swept away in a mud slide, the earthquake, the volcano, the flood....
Anyway, Friday is our fair country's 62nd birthday. We will be attending the neighborhood party and will definitely have some pictures after that event. It seems like overnight flags have gone up all over the city and there are also some pretty cool blinking lights at the neighborhood guard shack. Should be a party to remember.
