adventure bathing

Since we have returned from America we have had some water problems at our house. Basically we have a well out front and a water pump in the garage. The water pump pumps the water upstairs to where our shower, toilet and sink are. At least in theory that's how it all works.

A few days after getting back I went to take a shower and no water came out. So, I waited a little while and tried again. I got a trickle.

The next day there was no trickle, so we being the bright and creative people that we are decided something must be done. We realized that while there was no shower downstairs there is a faucet behind the washing machine.

Amazingly of all the faucets in the house this is the one that actually had more than a trickle. We took our bucket, towels and toiletries and proceeded to adventure bathe. It actually worked pretty well except for the fact that the cats sat on top of the washing machine and watched. It sort of freaked me out. And the big downside of the adventure bathing is that the area we use is not so private.

Anyway, after a few days the plumber came and fixed something and for about 12 hours we had hot, running water in our bathroom. It didn't last long. Now we are back to the trickle and even the trickle dries up if any other water is being used in the house (washing machine, recently flushed toilet, etc.).
So, (because this hasn't been inconvenient or annoying enough) it rained and flooded two days last week. Actually the flood wasn't bad, just a little came in the house, but it all came in to our adventure bathing area.
We freaked out but then decided to just go ahead and join a new gym where they not only have hot, running water, but nice hair dryers and plenty of air conditioning.
Just the other day I was thinking, I need to update the blog, but absolutely nothing interesting has happened to us lately...famous last words.
