After a few days experiencing our lovely city we headed off to Bali for a great vacation. Roger worked his magic and found us a wonderful villa. We had two bedrooms, a living room and our own private pool.
After enjoying some welcome drinks we headed to the beach and pretty much spent most of our vacation enjoying the ocean and the sand.
The waves were huge and the boys took advantage of them and learned to surf.
They sort of figured out the surfing, but got pretty banged up in the process.
Mostly they stuck to the trusty boogie boards, me and mom just enjoyed floating in the water and watching them play.
At night we would go out to eat and shop. We had some wonderful seafood at Bubba Gump's. In fact, it was so good we went back to eat there again. Roger and I were excited because in Bali we get to eat Mexican food, Italian food and the most missed food of all, pork!
One night we went to a different beach to watch the sunset and to eat seafood.
We were pretty disappointed with both. It was cloudy, so the sunset disappeared pretty fast and the seafood was definitely not that great or abundant.
You can see in our faces that we weren't really enjoying our shrimp.
Our villa was definitely a highlight of the trip.
We loved having breakfast served in our villa every morning and enjoying High Tea every afternoon. I think we got a little bit spoiled!
Mom and Melvin were also surprised at how cheap things are in Bali. Food is less expensive and so are things like chair and surfboard rentals.
In case you were wondering, they have safely arrived back in America. They are exhausted, but glad to be home.
