vancouver update

We have been here for about a month now and are finally starting to meet some people. Since we are moving to Bangkok in February we have been trying to meet Thai people in order to learn more about the culture and language of Thailand. It has been difficult to find Thai people in the midst of the 5 million people in Vancouver, but we are starting to make some progress. Next week we will have the opportunity to go to a Thai Buddhist temple and we have plans to eat lunch with a Thai student. We also met several Thai people at a restaurant near our house.

We have also met several of our neighbors recently. Across the hall from us there is a man from Iran, he joined us for dinner tonight. We had a great time talking to him and had some very good conversations about his desire to understand God. Roger and I enjoyed talking with him and learning more about his home country. Asher continually amazes us. He was fussy all afternoon, but as soon as our new friend came over he was perfect. He played while we talked and was played peek-a-boo with our new friend.

Our training has been going well, we stay very busy. This week's project has been to map an area of the city. We spent time studying a 6 block section of the city so that we could understand who lives and works there. We will use this information in the future to determine the best places to try and engage people.

awesome to know you guys are doing well. got your comment about the story bible. Karis was not very interested i am sure. however, she did pee with excellent arc off of her crib changing station. :-) it is nice to know there are resources for children that tell the story of redemption from creation to revelation. another one i found that i am sure you know of is "God's Storybook for children". it is for older children.
