a successful trip

After a hard days work at language school we decided to go to the mall and get some dinner. Our first major accomplishment of this trip was driving to the mall all by ourselves. Roger has been driving quite a bit and is now starting to learn his way around the city. Our second major accomplishment was successfully negotiating the security checkpoints and parking garage to actually make it into the mall. We had a mission: we needed a clock. One had previously been found, but we still had to figure out how to tell the salesperson that we wanted to buy it. Language school hasn't been to helpful in teaching us how to navigate malls. But, don't worry! We were successful!

We have proudly hung up our clock and now know the time, temperature and humidity inside our living room. It's sort of fun, especially when we see that it is 85 degrees indoors...

Our next objective: dinner. We were wondering through the mall enjoying the air conditioning and the sign marking where the new Krispy Kreme will be located when we came across Wendy's. We couldn't resist, so we went in and used some of those numbers we have been learning to order some combo meals.
The food was great, just like at home. In the store it even said "Potatoes Imported from USA."

We have loved getting emails from home, so if you have some time please write us and let us know what is going on. We have heard that it is cold and Louisville, KY was actually in the local paper today because of that whole train fire thing. All of our teachers were excited that they recognized where we were from. The rest of our evening is going to be devoted to unpacking, so hopefully this place will start to feel a little more like home.
