On Wednesday Courtney was supposed to fill in for one of our teammates to lead a chat club.
Not too many people showed up because the weather forecasters were calling for downpours in the afternoon.
Since there was not enough people present to facilitate the chat club, Courtney and a few students sat downstairs in the English center just chit chatting.
(While this was going on, Roger got the oil changed in the car all by himself!!!
Good job Rog!)
Eventually Roger made his way back to EEC (Easy English Course) so he was able to join in the conversation with Courtney and the students. We had such a good time talking about this country, the differences between here and the US, sports, etc. Eventually the conversation got steered to more serious matters and then the question was posed: “Do you think anyone is perfect?” Wow, what an opportunity and an open door to share! So we were able to say that there is no way that people can be perfect since we are all born sinners; one sin is enough to taint us forever. Even though it is impossible for us to be perfect, there was one man who lived a long time ago who was perfect and never committed a sin or any wrong doing. We got to tell a little more about this man to these students. We were so happy that the Father gave us an opportunity to share a bit of truth with these students; we ask that the words that were spoken will have an impact on them and that they will really think about this perfect man.
Now for a quick bit of random news: we think a rat has died somewhere in our house or garage because we can smell a pungent odor when we first come home in the evenings. We’ve looked for it but we cannot find it anywhere…oh the joys of living here!!!
