Thanks to everyone who wished me a 'happy birthday' yesterday, it meant a lot to me to hear from people at home! Yesterday was the first time that I have celebrated my birthday in another country. There were no fireworks to speak of, well, actually there were because my birthday fell on the same day as the Chinese New Year, so we had some fireworks. I was able to sleep in yesterday morning (a very nice treat) and then Courtney gave me my birthday presents. Then we made French toast for breakfast which was delicious. For most of the day we hung out at home, watched several episodes of '24' and just had very nice relaxing day. Later in the evening we went out to eat at a Thai restaurant in the mall with a couple of our teammates and then walked around a bit. It was a low key birthday, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Thanks again to everyone who emailed and left messages for me...they were much appreciated!
I (Courtney) just saw this post and thought there were a few things to add. First, a picture of Roger with his birthday presents:He seems to have forgotten to mention what exactly his presents were, but here you can see his new "man purse" and sort of see his new shirt. In his defense most of the boys here carry bags like this and really I sort of like it. This other picture is of Roger and his "man purse" when we were going to eat his birthday dinner.I have to admit that I actually love the "man purse" and it means that I can carry less in my purse. I have to go now, we are going to pack up our purses and get to school.
